Operation Lifesaver of Alabama’s Rail Safety Day & Expo
Safety Expo, Free Train Rides & Fun Family Activities!
The Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum is proud to partner with Operation Lifesaver of Alabama (OLA) to teach the public about railroad safety. Short, educational sessions will be provided throughout the day. Each session attendee will be given a free ticket for a 20-minute train ride on that day, with departures occurring approximately every 45 minutes.
Between rail safety sessions and train rides, attendees are encouraged to visit the variety of community safety partner booths, vehicles, displays and food vendors available on the grounds.

- Dates: First Friday of June purchases may be made at the Calera Depot prior to boarding on the day of the event, if tickets remain available.

The free train tickets on Rail Safety Day will be available only on the Museum grounds on the day of the event for those who attend the railroad safety sessions. Tickets are not available online or in advance and are good for one trip on the Calera & Shelby Railroad only on the day of this event.
